Veiled and Watched
Veiled
and watched...though apparently dichotomous terms can co-exist in
certain scenarios...how do you react to being forcibly veiled...how do
you respond to attempts at monitoring which border on spying...when one
is asked to veil up, in essence one is being told that some external
agency has a problem with one's anatomy...that it is so repulsive to the
eye that it should be disguised under layers of clothing...and that
somehow, it is the onus of the one to resolve the issue, which an
external agency has with their physicality...When societal structures
use decorum as an excuse to censure feminity and curb individual space
there is a problem...It is a big deal and even if you cannot do anything
about it Let There Be Subversive Voices
